Negative surface stock with flat cutters V10

Good Afternoon,

 

IN Version 10....

 

I was told that negative stock could be programmed on surface when using a flat cutter.

I've tried this but the truth is it takes forever and 9 times out of 10, the system will freeze on me. Is there a quick fix for this a patch maybe in the works? Or am I just better off giving the tool a small rad.
