Hi Guys.

Can any of you Wire guys help me out. I'm just

starting with mastercam wire and i'm a little lost. I'm burning a profile and I'm leaving a tab to be cut off later. I want MC to turn on comp with a lead in, cut the profile and then cut the wire with out a lead out, or cut the wire and then lead out. Any help would be great. confused.gif Thanks

Threept82,

Break your geometry the same point as you want the tap 0.05 exampel. Choose tap cuts, but 0 as numbers of tap cut. Set cutting metod to "One way". In operation mangaer right click on your NCI exstension, that will bring your to "Toolpath editor", and find the point were you broke your geomtry for your tap. Edit the point => Control Settings => thread and check cut.

Drop me a line with the file and I will take a look at it. You shoudl be able to select contour, your thread point, contour, and then set your parameters. On page three of the parameter page it gives you a lead in lead out amount. You will always lead in from your start/thread point. So I usually only assign a lead out distance. If I use multiple pass on a die section then I will usually overlap slightly just to get a better blend in the transition point due to any wire lag in the center of the cut.
