confused.gif I'm missing something in the ftp site upload instructions.

quote:

Step by step instructions:

-Click on this link to open cadcam's FTP site

-Bookmark the link or add it to your Favorites list

-With another Windows Explorer window open drag your file on to the FTP Explorer window.

-Use a link to your file location in your message, or specify the filename and note that it's on cadcam's FTP site.

My assumption is that the FTP Explorer Window is just the Internet Explorer window with the FTP site open.

When I open Windows Explorer and drag the file to the FTP Explorer window, I get the "Open from..." and "Save to Disk" download window.

So unless I download CuteFTP or some other FTP program, I'm not sure what I've been doing wrong. [sigh]

Thanks.

go to the FTP and go to the folder you want to put the file.

Now go find the file you want in say Expoler and right click on the file you want and copy.

Now go to the folder you want to put it in.then right click and past.

This will upload the file.

Now to get a file pick the file on the FTP and once again right click and pick save to folder.

Hope this helps.

cadcam,

One of the things I noticed in an earlier thread regarding the FTP site was a picture you attached that showed the FTP site and all of the folders displayed like you would normally see in Windows Explorer.

What I see when I go to the FTP site is a text only page with links to the individual subdirectories shown as text links. I'll forward a screen shot to you so that you have a better image of what I'm talking about. Maybe it's just a setting I need to change in the Tools menu of Internet Explorer. I'll look at that as well.

Actually Jay, the molding arm of our company moved up from SoCal more than a couple of years ago and has sinced been closed.

With regard to the FTP site, I found out what was causing me not to see the folders. After upgrading to IE 6.0, I still had the same issue and checked the Advanced settings in the Internet Options (Tools menu) and checked the "Enable Folder View For FTP Sites" box. After reopening IE, I went into the FTP site and now have the folders. I appreciate your help anyway. smile.gif
