With a 10k RPM Max machine, 10k RPM @ 30 IPM for a 3 Flute E/M. DOC about 50% of Diameter, WOC, about 30-35% depending on the shape of the pocket. That'll give you a .001" Chip Load. Shoud be OK for that Dia. E/M.

That's where I'd start.

James' numbers are a real good starting point

depending on the endmill.

I use 3 flute endmills with 45° hi-rake flutes. They like to be pushed. I would start out a little more aggressive than James. DOC 50% of E/M Ø, Step over 55% of E/M Ø, 10K RPM, 60 IPM. That is a is .002 chip load. FLood Coolant is a MUST.

I would do it different like .05 depth of cut 10K spindle 150 ipm. I know crazy but compare cycle times and see if there is much of a difference.

Could do it like .1 depth of cut 10 k spindle 100 ipm. I when doing pocketing on a vertical like the smaller chips they seem to clean out of pockets better. On a hortzional I would go with a bigger depth of cut.
