Window Selection Suggestion

Is there a way that I'm missing to set the window selection method parameters? In past versions, you could change between window selection methods like 'Inside' or 'Inside and Intersecting' or 'Outside'.... etc.

 

This seems to have been lost in X and we're stuck with just the 'Inside' method.

 

What would be cool is if we were able to use the direction you drag the window to choose between selection methods like:

 

drag from left to right for 'Inside

 

drag from right to left for 'Inside and Intersecting'

 

Or even:

 

drag from top left to bottom right for 'Inside'

 

drag from bottom left to top right for 'Outside'

 

drag from bottom right to top left for 'Outside and Intersecting'

 

drag from top right to bottom left for 'Inside and Intersecting'

 

 

...Just a thought

Right next to the window choice is a drop down menu with other choices.

I still like Zero Idea s though. if I am right that would be like Solidworks.Also If you want I can give you a link to General Selection video that covers that?

I turned zero's suggestion in several versions ago, but send it in again it can only help. I would still like the control to pick inside, outside, etc... I would like to see an "auto" option that would adopt some of the functionality zero wrote down.

If this feature is adopted, I hope it can be called something like "Smart Window" and be an option that can be disabled in the config file. I window from various corners depending on where my mouse is at the time, where the geometry is, etc. I like the current window options just the way they are.
