make toolpath defaults stick

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

If I create a 2d contour toolpath in a fresh copy of Mastercam, comp defaults to wear, left. That's fine... Then lets say I change it to comp off so I can cut on center. If I go and create another 2d contour operation it wants to use comp off again. Sometimes I forget to switch it back and I get bit. redface.gif I do realize that this is exactly how V9.1 worked... Is there any way to stop this behavior and make it use the defaults for every new operation ?

Matt,

I know it's not the answer to your question but I import ops from my library and they always come in exactly the way I want them. I have a pocket op for each tool that I use, a contour for each tool, reaming setups (spot, drill, stab, ream), contour ramp for each tool, etc. I import the op based on what tool I'm going to use and everything is already setup....lead in/out, tangent/perp, amount of stock, type of comp...everything. I change the depths and maybe a clearance plane, select my chain and I'm off and running.
