No "save as ver 8" in MR1

We made the decision long ago to not support output of V8 and earlier files in X. Anyone else who has raised this question with us has had V9.

If you've got X, you should probably ask your reseller for a V9 CD. Then you can "save as MC9" from X and "save as MC8" from V9 - or else just work in V9, since it's not drastically different from V8.

Toolman184: we jumped from 8 right to X. (with associated costs, but that's life). To make a long story short, our company changed hands, and the previous owners were too cheap to pay maintenance. We aren't.

Pete, I will ask my reseller for a v9 cd. Works for me. Hadn't thought of that, thanks.

Just curious, why drop ver 8 support in X? It was in the initial release, so it would have been extra work to take it out of MR1, no? Not a biggie, just curious. confused.gif

dontrust is correct. I just checked a SP1 Update 3 install and it has the ability to Save As '*.mc8' while my test MR1 install does not.
