file merge in " X "

Morning

When I merge a file into "X" my part turns red. When I analysis it, the attributes say it's still the original color . Why does it do this and how can I fix it?

Forgot, it was a mcx file that I merged in.

It comes in as a group. Click on group properties and change to original color.

If you do not want this to be a group anymore go to the lower right corner to groups then pick the grou in the groups box and delete it it will be bask geo and the right colors and not a group any more.

It would be nice if along with the new features there could be a checkbox to disable them.

 

I am sure a lot of people like this new behavior and I am sure a lot of people don't.

Sure. It's called Settings-Configuration.

Its not that big of deal to click on groups and hit colors use enitity's colors.

 

I like it coming in as a group. That way if you want to move it by layer or translate its basically a click or two.

Due to popular demand, this default setting was turned OFF in the recently-released MR1/SP2. And, as Thad says, it's easily set-and-forget in Config.

 

Also...note that V9's Create/Pattern function has worked this way all along. In X, we combined that functionality with File/Merge (so you can import any file AND place it at the same time). So it's only "sort of" new functionality.
