UG translator

Based on the errors that I'm getting, I assume that the translator needs to be updated for MR1. This really blows!

 

Can we expect all the 3rd party products and chooks to quit funtioning with every update to MCX?

The pro/e translator is working fine on X MR1. Is it possible the file was created on a new release of UG? The pro/e translator has historically been behind a few months when new releases of pro come out.

I get the MCug.ft errors upon startup. I don't even get far enough to translate a file.

Sorry Thad, just grasping at straws. The pro translator work directly through the file open window. I don't see the UG as a direct option in the file types.

 

I think JMPARIS works with that, maybe he will chime in.

As of last week my resaler doesnt have a UG to MC reader for X. Ive been reading UG files into V9 and open V9 files from X.

 

All the file I work with come for UG

We've been using the translator for X for a few weeks now. It's the MR1 update that put the screws to it. You might want to get with your dealer.

We never wound up purchasing the UG translator, did not need to since we moved away from NX and to Solidworks.

 

I just always used parasolid to bring UG files in.

Yes, that's the one. When launching the chook, I get the "unknown file" error, just like when running the Moldplus chook that wasn't updated for MR1. In fact, I uninstalled the translator and reinstalled it. During the install, it said "no compatible version of MC found" or somesuch.

 

Our dealer is looking into the latest version for us.

they have not updated it yet. the one I have does not see the MC

My reseller tells me that cadcam-e will have a fix in 10-14 days.
