Post. Specific "N" numbers...

How difficult is it to get N numbers to appear ONLY on specific lines in the program?

 

i.e. Sequence numbers only at tool changes and "B" rotations?

 

How would I edit my post?

One way would be to remove all of the "n, " in you post except for the lines you want them on.

 

or put

 

omitseq : 0

 

before the lines you want the Ns to appear on and

 

omitseq : 1

 

after those lines.

I think ... If you set omintseq: 1 and then force the n (e.g. *n) where you want line Numbers it should work.

Normally people want to see line numbers at toolchanges if at all. You can even make the line number the same as the tool number if you want. Lots of possibilities.

Yeah. My Machinists say "tool changes, and possibly each Op comment"

 

You see, ALL of our machines read the programs from a DNC server...What that means is you CANNOT ever, edit a program or manually search to a line.

 

The only possibility is to search to an "N" number.

So I need N's at certain "key" program locations...

 

Your suggestions are gonna do the trick quite nicely!

Can someone give an example of forcing a line number

notice the * in front of the n

 

That forces it out

So in your case, where you see the following;

 

n$, t$, "M06", e$

(more stuff)

n$, comment$, e$

 

Change it to this;

 

*n$, t$, "M06", e$

(more stuff)

*n$, comment$, e$

 

That should do it.
