+1 to Bruce, I would definitely drill it .005 or .010 shy and just finish it off with a ball mill or some other such spherical cutting tool; you could probably get a custom size ground by Fullerton or somebody pretty fast for relatively short $$

Heavy,

Blind holes are for cascades or baffles. .578 diameter is for 3/8 NPT, you can use 9/16 drill and pipe reamer, then tap. I drill .2 shy of depth and hand grind a ball on the end of a drill and just drill the last .2 with the ball drill. 2" is pretty shallow, on deep holes I have drilled with on size drill then balled with 1/64 under so drill would not seize in hole.

THANKS EVERYBODY for the input. MH we are a small job shop kinda do little bit of everything working on a cavity mold for a oil pan . dont get to do a lot of 3d stuff with molds so this job will be fun and a learning experience. i.m sure i,m going to have alot of ? on the the 3d paths goin to put file on ftp for reference under the name die cast mold
