installing mastercam

Hi

I am trying to install mastercamX. It says that it installed fine. But when I try to run it I get a mastercam.exe - entry point not found message. The procedure entry point?SetDebugString@@YAKQAD_N@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library Mastercam.exe

Has anyone seen this.

Have you installed as administrator and now you run as other user ?

I installed in under my user name. It finish install and then when I click on the icon in errors out.

I'll bet you do not have admin rights, you'll probably have to have someone from your IT department come in and install it.

Please check the dates/times of the Mastercam.Exe and Mcr.Exe in the folder in which you installed MR2. These should say May 10th. All the MC*.DLLs should also say May 10th. It sounds like you've got some sort of mismatch between versions.

Also, make sure that your shortcut which launches Mastercam refers to the Mastercam folder.

I uninstalled X and reinstalled 9. That is working fine. Tomorrow morning I will try to reinstall X and I will see if that works.

I called my IT guy but he is on vaction next week and busy this week. I installed X on my laptop and it works fine so atleast I can use it.

rboucher - Also make sure that the .NET api and Direct X are installed.
