Ken,

Creating a COONS patch surface would give you the best result in that gap. If you had an arc or spline which better defines the cross-section of the gap where you need the surface, you could create it with 2 patches in mind. There is a third party product called Moldplus that has some really excellent features for editing multi-surface designs. You can view this product from this website: http://www.moldplus.com/. cool.gif

Good Morning

Coons gives you a fast patch , but it will only have the spirit of the edge curves which will make the surface loose the roundness of the existing fillets, it will be kind of flat.

Three fillet blend in this case has two fillets to

close together, blend surface only does two surfs at a time well.

This is what I do for speedy patch

Project 3 curves on each side of any gap,

Create a loft surface with edge curves and the new projected curves

Trim or any modifying style you want.

Repeat in another direction if required for some kind of smoother blend.

just My.02

If a rash develops discontinue use.

For me, the best method is to take it into Rhino and and do a 'blend surf'. Mcam' s blend surf does not do an acceptable job in this instance. I'm sure it can be made as a coons patch or a loft if some curves are generated across the gap tangent to the surfs.
