.025"(.635mm) TO .05"(1.27mm) per side should do the trick.

good idea again Ron. I've taken too little on finish passes (.005-.010) and gotten what looks like that finish, although alittle more irregular. Especailly noticable with longer tools. A bit more "load" on the tool for the finish pass helped my similar situation.

Well from all thats been posted what I will do next is

I left 0.5mm per side for finish pass used a 16mm dia unimill with 45 degree helix (uncoated)at 18000 RPM and 3200mmmin.

 

So I think it's harmonics more than anything.

I will keep you guys informed on how I go.
