Optional Stop ???

Hi

Is there a simple workaraound to have the program stop in a certain spot, without using the optional stop button and having it stop at EVERY tool change?? I'm using a Haas VF-2.

If you put an

M0

all buy itself the machine will stop ,and

the operator can cycle start at will from

the nextline.

Another option is to use the Canned Text button in the operation Tool Param. page or from the Chain Man. "change at point" selection from right-clicking in the Chain Man. If you use "change at point", you can specify at which point in the toolpath you want the "M0" stop, if your post supports that canned text. The Haas post for V8.1.1 supports canned text but read it at the beginning to see which value you want for that stop.

Remember that you might have to put your spindle command back in after a M0. I would hate to see you finish a mold surface without the spindle running. Ouch..

Keep in mind that a lot of M codes are controller specific. Most of the ones in the above list will not work as stated on all controllers. M0,M3,M4,M5 and M6 are the only ones I've seen as standard.

You definitly don't want to forget the spindle before moving on. A gentleman who no longer works with us did that with a 3" face mill - VERY nasty mess........
