Tabbing issue

I have been experiencing crashes when tabbing complex parts lately. its gotten to the point where I have to comprimise the safety of the machine so that the software won't get overloaded and crash.

 

It used to get really slow after I placed a bunch of tabs and if I kept clicking and placing tabs the software would eventually catch up and everything would be fine. now I go slow and after say 20 tabs it crashes.

 

Anyone else having this problem?

Hi Josh,

 

I really prefer to use the "use square point for tab location" check box. I got tired of the manual tab placement crapping out on me. Just put a "square" point over your contour anywhere you would like a tab. Then you just chain your geometry like normal, enable tabs, use square point for tab location, check the "settings" button (I like to set my tab location to midpoint), and presto! If you want to move a tab, just move the point and regen. We do very large parts with hundreds of tabs occasionally. It will save you lots of hair pulling.

Lifes pretty slow over here. I wish I was doing all the fun stuff like you guys and not this boring 2.5D all the time. I need a challenge for once!

Great tip! I havn't noticed that option before. Very fast way to put tabs where I want them.

What is a square point?

Bottom of the screen click on "Attributes" and set for "Point Style" the square.
