backplot clock

Hi all,

I'm looking to view the total backplot time in the info tab and can't find it or even see a backplot time.

Anyone know how to get it?

Try the Details tab.

In the detail tab in only shows the tool, feedrates and x/y/z limits. It's just not there.

I have had this happen to me, where the Cycle Time just does not show. Try restarting Mastercam and see if it comes back.

what would the backplot time tell you.is it suppose to figure your actual cutting time.

It just gives you a machining time that's not totally accuate to the actual time but..

it can guide you as to trying to improve the toolpath machining time.

I was trying to compare a no core method with another no core method.

I have had this happen if any of my 2d contour ops have control for cutter compensation type.

i just anylyze chain the 2 d area and find the perimeter dim. and divide it by the cutting speed and wala.its very close.thats how i quote jobs.

I get the clock in milling but not wire.

How far can it be off? Cutting 2D geometry is simple mathematics to calculate run time. I've found the 2D toolpaths to be pretty close...and that's with rapid moves. The wire machine has to be even closer.

 

I'm not saying you're making it up, but there's only a few things that can give a false time on a 2D contour. I doubt MC is using the wrong formula.

Try turning off simulate cutter compensation in the backplot options. If I'm using control comp, the times don't display for me unless I uncheck that option.

Tried all that Rick and no way as it just isn't there in wire. thanks

(the clock works just fine in milling with X for me.)

It's not that far off as I made it seem.

I'll bet it's even closer with a machine that moves real fast such as a mikron hard miller.

It has quick rapids feeds and the tool changer

is lightning fast in my opinion (I have only seen this).
