The weirdest Mastercam error I have ever experienced...

Well, I ran my SIM plugged directly into the USB port on the PC (in fact, in two different PC's) and got the same issues. So gcodes suggestion of using a shorter cable isn't a solution in this instance :/

 

I plugged it into another machines USB port, and after running it for two days, I never got an error.

 

It happens in both X MR2, and X2.

Mick,

compare the driver version for your USB hubs.

Maybe the computers that are giving you trouble

are running old drivers or they may even have

USB 1.0 hardware.

 

Perhaps udating USB drivers would fix this?

 

For $10 you can buy a USB 2.0 expansion card that

plugs into an expansion slot, That might fix it

too.

 

My 2 year old Dell workstation is running

USB driver version 5.0.1006.0 dated 1/15/2003

and I'm not having any trouble like this.

 

My first attempt to fix this would be to

download and reinstall your HASP drivers.

If you do reinstall, shut off your antivirus/firewall first. The install routine uses

a VBSript. If you AV software blocks VBS the install will fail, or install incorrectly.

seriously guys, its not a usb thing. that might help a tiny bit, but i repeat...

 

i had the same problems, so i reinstalled windows xp. everything is normal now. it had to do with the hasp drivers and not the actual hasp...

I just did a complete reinstall on a brand new hard drive, complete install of XP SP2, not the OEM.
