seriously guys, its not a usb thing. that might help a tiny bit, but i repeat... i had the same problems, so i reinstalled windows xp. everything is normal now. it had to do with the hasp drivers and not the actual hasp... i could tell you what screwed my computer up (and probably yours), but its a secret

it's not just you, everything in x takes longer to do than it did in 9

THIS IS SOMETHING MASTERCAM SHOULD FIX. IT WOULD BE NICE IF IT READ THE INFO FROM THE TOOL AND ACTUALLY DISPLAYED THE TOOL HOLDER CORRECTLY. NEVER HAS WORKED THE WAY IT SHOULD. IT'LL BE IN TEN RIGHT? (SORRY, I MEAN "X")

my personal favorite is SETVIEWS. it's such an incredible timesaver! users of v8.1 should definately give these c-hooks a try

my guess is you bought a computer at an auction or something and it has mastercam on it. to run mastercam you need to have license. if you don't have the sim(Subscriber Identity Module) or hasp(Hardware Against Software Piracy) mastercam won't run. sorry man

no difference, but the educational version is not authorized for industrial use and the college paid a lot less for it

i think there may be a simple answer to this question. when "stepping" through backplot, it is dependant on the repeat rate of your keyboard. try checking the settings in the keyboard section of the control panel. let me know if this is what you were looking for

i like to toggle the toolpath display on and off( t on keyboard) picking and choosing which operations to show and then exit operations manager. i then hit the hardcopy button located on my toolbar (this is the key). voila!

Replying to James- True, we don't use solids and we don't use 4 or 5 axis. Theres seems to be a lot of improvements there. For surfaces there are some options I liked quite a bit, but overall the upgrade seems like it should called v8.2 We've used v8 and v9 while beta testing and voted to wait and see what v10 has to offer instead of upgrading at the moment. Not putting v9 down, but we beta test also and are planning on waiting for version 10. Haven't seen anything we can't live without. V8 works quite nice for us.
