how expensive (roughly) to get posts setup to suit?

Kennebec,

It all depends on how many changes you need to make. The people at this forum are very helpful with post mods. Ask specific questions and I'm sure you'll get the answers you need. That just takes some sweat equity. wink.gif

Welcome to the forum! cheers.gif

Full on ...no editing what so ever

Post out for Okuma's 4 and 5 axis machines

did some editing starting with 3 axis post as boss was too cheap to buy one but we had the grandfather clause for 4 and 5 axis on our seat here ...so i did the editing with some help on here and former experience with post editing from other shops.

Only have a 3 axis post for a Fadal myself but post it and go right to machine. I have also helped our tool room guy set up posts for Mitsubishes with Meldas control and a Monarch with Fanuc so that he can post and go. I do owe kudos to the good folks here for helping me better understand how posts work (and a few other things too). cheers.gif

ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY ZERO EDITING EVER!!!!!

As far as cost, worth every penny no matter the cost. The value in "Post and Run" is no scrap due to editing errors, change and run, man... the list goes on and on. It pays so.... big time.

Good Morning

I am trying to figure out my posting problem and curious if some of the problem may be my approach; I am cutting my cross contour in C and T Plane Back, My coordinates make no sense,Z is constantly changing, do I have to manipulate my GEO to some Cut position I am not aware of

Thanks

Kennebec
