One of our lathes gives an alarm when the rapid line after a g71 has a Z number output. I have been searching the forum for hours and altering and posting trying to figure out how to make it not force a z output here if the z is already at the position.

 

Can anyone offer some suggestions?

 

Both the Z output lines are from : lrapid$ prapidout when I run the debug.

My Nak is the same what you want to do is take out the G00 on N400

The last line of the canned cycle rapids to the start point.

If you remove the G00 on the N400 line I'm sure you will be good to go.

See if the prapidout uses pfzout or pzout. pfzout is a force z output.

does your control support type 2 canned roughing cycles (undercuts in 1 axis)? or only type 1 (no undercuts) ?

If I am not mistaken, only type 1.

if I remember correctly the Z value (in turning and X in facing) distinguishes between a type 1 and type 2 cycle, probably have to remove that.
