Cimnet

Anybodu using Cimnet for DNC? I was about to buy Cimco, but am very impressed with Cimnet. Just curious if anyone here has had problems with it?

We use it here it is real nice software.

Cimnet is an out of date software. We replaced it with Cimco DNC. We could never get support from Cimnet. WE now have all the support we need and ever remote support through our cimco dealer.

Crazy to buy Cimnet.

Why were you impressed with Cimnet? Many of the users/dealers in the MasterCAM channel are partial to Cimco primarily because it was offered as a third party communications/editor package within the CAM system until version X. Several people (myself included) can boast that they have replaced another's DNC package for one reason or another as the years progress. Cimnet has always been a worthy competitor through the years. They do not tend to lead the pack as far as innovation but do not fall to much behind as far as software interface and base functionality. Judging by the size of your company and the close proximity to Cimnet HQ you will be making an ok decision by purchasing it. Based upon your plant location you may also want to look at Predator from Wayne Larish at UniqueLink, Cimco from Glenn Sharpe from Sharper Solutions, and SuiteFactory from Bob Sorenson at AHS Machinery Solutions.
