Engraving letters

I seem to be having a problem with chaining letters used for engraving text. I have done this many times in the past by creating the text with letters using the stick font then I would window chain the text, select the search point and that was it. I can not get it to chain at all now. Am I missing something here? Is my vacation that starts tomorrow clouding my judgment?

Did you rememebr to break your drafting into lines?

Make sure OPEN chains is selected on the mask page

This is strange. I opened up a new file and did the exact same thing and it worked perfectly. But when I went back to my original file I still cannot get it to work.

did you have color mask or something on

When you are window chaining I find I have better luck setting it to 3D instead of Cplane, or make sure your depth is set to the same plane the letters are in.
