Saving Operations - Tools missing

I have noticed if I save an operation to the library and it has 2 of the same tools it deletes one of them even if it has a different number. Has this been covered or anyone else notice this?

i have something like this, if i use the same tool for roughing and finishing it changes the the tool number on the finish op but leaves the offset value alone.

 

i.e. T0505 rough

T0105 finish

also noticed that if i hijack one toolpath and use it for a new toolpath it doesn't change the

nci program number ( even though i update it at the begining of the new program) it will post a couple of tools and then prompt me for another nci file to post. but if i go in twice to change the nci datapath then it works.

You should see a 3/4" vari-helix end mill helix bore D2 at 100 ipm. The operator had to clean up a little. But, He caught it before anyting drastic happened. Just a slight soil in the trousers.

What would make it a duplicate tool? The tool number, dia offset and length offset were different between tools.

That worked Mid-West, but you also have to check it when you import as well. But, what would make it a duplicate if everything is different? Is it that both tools started out as the same tool?

When i imported a saved tool library from an mc8 file,how come the tool length no. was different to the tool no.,it caused a crash!and i broke a drill spindle!

Bummed out you had the problem but why would you bring a file in and not at least look it over to make sure the transfer happened cleanly?
