I have just found that the Diameter and Height numbers are not updating when the Tool number is changed.

 

This bug happens when changing a tool number in an existing operation AND while importing a tool from the library with "assign tool number sequentially".

 

CAUTION

 

Make sure you watch the Tool#, Dia# and Hgt#

I made them aware of that in February and had a lengthy discussion about it with Rob.

 

Hopefully they will address it. It's not a bug per se but it opens the door for issues so it's not a good thing.

The strange thing is that some users won't see this issue I guess...

 

My workstation has this problem but another computer I loaded X2MR1 onto for comparison purposes (no migration, overwrite install)DOES NOT have this problem...

99% of users won't see this. It took quite a bit of back and forth to get him to re-create the issue so he could show the powers that be.

Actually, it seems that there was an issue with my migration and I had to adjust the Control Definition, Tool tab to use "add to tool"(0 length, 0 dia in my case)instead of "from tool".

 

I don't know where the "from tool" came from. Maybe Mastercam migrated a file which I did not intend...

yep that's what happens to me too!but i posted it in a different thread,but i was asked to mind my save tools

This bug was in mcamx as well. Importing operations were almost pointless in that version. Import operation, not only would the offset/length numbers be completely different then the tool highlighted in the tool manager, the length OR diameter number were wrong too.

 

Looks like the import operation with the wrong tool is still there even in mr1

I never had problems importing operations in X2.

 

Now that I have my CD's fixed everything relating to tool numbers seems perfect on my workstation with X2MR1.

 

I do have some doubts about the migration utility but nothing I can prove.
