i would liked to know better how to use cutter compensation{mcam8}.eg. i would put a left in computer and also a left in control.then i would key in the wear values at the machine.for example a -0.02 mm in wear, this compensates per side.also in lead in/out parameter, entry and exit values shold be half the cutter diameter with tangential entry and exit .is that right?can anybody confirm?

Computer in MC does the comp for you and does not put a G41 or G42 in program. What ever you put in machine doesnt matter since there is no G41-42 in wouldnt read it anyways. Control in MC puts a G41-42 in program. At the machine you would put cutter dia in and could use wear to tweak. I personally use wear now in MC. Its the best of both worlds. It puts the G41-42 into program and at machine your tool dia. would be 0 then tweak with your wear.
