new coolant \old post\ thick head

I don't know why I'm having such a hard time figuring this out.

Is there an easy way to update my post to account for the new coolant settings? I ran the updatepost chook and it didn't do anything.

I personally prefer the v9 settings but when I check that feature in my Machdef, it ignores my defaults in the operations which means I have to set them every time. If I use the "Use tool's step, peck and coolant it messes with other settings that my operators prefer.

Any help?

You can use the "edit common parameters" feature while you are in the Operation Defaults dialog box.

Go to

Operations Manager, Machine Group Properties, Files Tab.

Click the "Edit" button in the Operation Defaults section.

Now click the "Select all operations" button at the top of the dialog box.

Scroll the vertical slider bar up until you can see the "Machine Group". It should say Mill Inch Operation Defaults for the Machine name. Now right-click on the Machine Group, edit selected operations, edit common parameters.

Make your coolant adjustments and presto!

You will re-set all your defaults for coolant.

I've been experiencing some strange coolnat stuff with MR1. It seems that if I "use tools step/peck/coolant" it overrides the actual paramaters within the operation. i.e coolant-off, yet outputs M8.

This is a X-post that does this.

I'm a little P.O'd Mr1 has so many little quirks.

I'm starting to feel the same way. I wish I would've done a side by side install. If I had, I would've switched back by now.

I think the whole coolant menu is getting farther and farther away from what I want with every release. I just want to click coolant on or air on or both.

I don't want to click a down arrow, then click off on coolant and click another down arrow and click on on air. It doesn't have to be that complicated. The new menu reminds me of some of the craziness I've seen in Unigraphics.
