The technique I described increases your volume of metal removal. It also works on POS machines with out all the fancy HSM stuff. Trust me, I do it all day long on old controls. With Trochodial moves turned off, all the High speed method does is put radii on your actual toolpath, meaning that you aren't decellerating into a sharp corner, then accelerating out of that corner.
