Fan Blade Spacing

Anybody know of a way to check the radial spacing of 9 blades?

I mean to check to see if spacing is symetrical, all blades evenly spaced. Most automotive fans are not due to harmonic vibration.

You could create wireframe on each blade and do an "analyze distance". When you do analyze distance, hold down the control key to disable the autocursor, and click on two curves (line, arc, or spline). As long as you don't pick a snap point (endpoint, midpoint, arc center, ect.), analyze distance will give you the "closest" measurement between the two entities. If you measure between the wireframe that is on each blade in the same configuration (pick the top spline one each blade in the same order as you go around the fan), you should be able to get the "closest" measurement between each blade.

Create a bounding box - cylindrical - with no

offset and create points at the intersection

of the fan and cylinder - analyze distance -

or creat lines from center to points and

analyze angle

How about taking one entity common to each blade and rotate/copy it 40deg x 8 times about the fan axis and see if they line up.

Are you talking about a physical fan in the real world, or a model in Mastercam?

Both! A SW model from customer to be turned (and milled) into a real life physical fan.

Did you try analyze angle 3points? Select one common entity endpoint, then the axis then the next common entity endpoint. This works on any type of GEO solids, wire, surfs. HTH
