Ashan,

I placed the file on the FTP in the MX2 folder it is called plate.mcx

I don't have access to a Mill 3 at this point but I really think you could get that with a Flowline toolpath.

Perhaps someone can take a look and lay it out so you can see how.

I had someone convert it to a MC9 for me to look at...wont mention names.(JP)

I uploaded back to the MC9 FOLDER on the ftp...called non other then..

Platekannon.mc9

anyhoo...if anyone cares to look and see if those toolpaths will work that would be dandy!

and FLOWLINE was the toolpath of choice that I did the majority with.

hope its what ya want Ashan! cheers.gif

What version of MCX are you running.

I would and did use flow-line for the outter walls but the top inner inner edge does not flow well due to haw it was made so I made surfces for edge boundrys and did surface finish blend and it looks great.

I will save this in the MCX2 folder as Platecadcam.mcx

its just a matter of time boys...I will be there with you soon...

they are working on a leadman in the area first...then he will be able to guide the cnc dept. many are putting in for the job...and I sense the upgrade very soon.

Flowline worked great for the sides....then I used curve 5 axis held to 4..seemed to look ok... cheers.gif

Ashan...

just sent you mail...its the way I would tackle it...

maybe someone else has some different ideas..

I used a drill to create a center hole...then did a circle-mill to do the internal 10 inch circle....then used a surface-rough flowline to take the majority of the external material...
