No, I am trying to view with a clipping plane. Not sure if its still possible. We used to be able to have sufaces shaded or not and be able to turn on a clipping plane to view a cross section of parts. It was adjustable in Z depth. From a viewing stand point it did look like we trimmed all entities to a plane. But it was just a view, not really trimmed.

its the "ANIMATION " in 9...here is from the help in 9... I dont know what it is in X

This Animate option enhances the Clipping Plane option by letting you move the clipping plane in increments of a given distance (plane steps). The Animate option is enabled only when the On check box for Clipping plane is selected. Selecting the Animate check box activates this parameter and the Plane step parameter.

To use this feature, you must first select the Animate check box. Doing so enables the Plane step parameter. Then, when you exit the shading dialog boxes, the system clips the shaded display to the plane using the value of the Plane step parameter. The system also displays the Clipping Plane Animation menu to let you control the animation function. Click on the menu below for more information.

Here is some more from the help..

1. Choose Main Menu, Screen, Surf disp, Studio, Settings.

2. Choose the Special effects… button from the Studio Settings dialog box.

3. Check Clipping Plane.

4. From the Define Plane menu, choose an option for placing the intersecting plane.

5. Choose OK or Flip to position the arrow on the image. The arrow points to the portion of the image that will remain displayed.

6. Check Animate.

7. Enter an amount in inches for the Plane step. When animating the clipping plane, Mastercam slices the image with the intersecting plane at steps that are spaced the amount of the plane step.

8. Choose OK, OK. Mastercam slices the image at the intersecting plane, and displays the portion of the image that you elected to keep.

9. From the Clipping Plane Animation menu, click repeatedly on In then Out. Mastercam constructs then deconstructs the image in plane
