Yes you can .... select save as and in the file type pull down select IGES ... then click on the options button and set the options to what you think will work.

 

then see if you get what you want... If not change a option...

 

sometimes I have to play with the options to get the output I want..

 

there will be no dimensions ... if you want dims you will have to add them in the drawing yourself .... unless you create and dimension a solidworks drawing as below.

 

 

The file will still be 3D if you want a plain 2D Acad type drawing then you will have to create a Solidworks Drawing and convert that to a Acad DWG file. If that is the CAD package you are converting to.

How about a *.slddrw I think this supports

drawing file(s).

 

IGS only supports wireframe,surfaces,,,do you want dimensions??
