Trying to open files shuts down mastercam

I have a real issue with mastercam shutting itself down while trying to open files. The error message (just before shutdown) says "mastercam has encountered a problem and needs to shut down"

 

Any ideas? It's happening to ALOT of my students.

Did you update to a Maintenance release without having maintenance codes?

Hi James! I don't think so. I know our maint. contract is up in a few days, but I can't imagine that's the problem (?).

I usually can make this happen when working on a file located on a USB memory device... Is the file saved locally on the 'puter? What file type? Mastercam X2 MR2?

Reading and writing to a floppy drive can cause this too. The transmision rate is just too slooooow.

I've had that problem when the hard drive hasn't been defragmented in a while. Defragmenting clears it right up for me. Definetly worth a try.

You obviously have the "mexican" cracked version you are trying to run there.

We've had a similar problem with a certain chipped flute individual around these parts. We've been able to place an "operative" close to him to bite him in the arse the next time it happens

 

 

Seriously though, what these guys pointed to might be the likely culprit
