Off Topic - vacuum channel gasket

I use quite a but of channel gasket material from Vac-U-Loc

http://www.vaculok.com/Gasket_Material.html

on phenolic vacuum fixturing and have been making fixtures using 5/32 x 1/8" gasket for some time.

Inexplicably, the 5/32 dimension is no longer available banghead.gif and I have several years worth of fixtures that will eventually need their gaskets replaced.

Is anyone out there aware of any other manufacturers of this kind of gasket?

any leads are much appreciated,

Adam.

This is the ONLY place to go to get vacuum fixture gasket. They will make it to just about any dimension you need it. Check out some of their other products as well. We use a lot of their spoil board cover for small parts. Family owned and operated business. Great people to deal with. Just tell them Tom from American Precision Routing sent you. That is the name of our production shop and what Standard Router buys all their supplies under.

"Awesome site how many of you other guys are using some form of vacuume holding ???We have done some on plastics with limited success ....."

That is all we do here. 3 and 5 axis parts, anything from 2"x2"x.0625 flat sheet to 5'x10'x3' heavy gauge formed parts. Great success. All held with only vacuum hold down. Flat sheet thru spoilboard and formed parts on fixtures using vacuum flow though.

All plastic types including acrylic, HDPE, ABS, etc..

It's all we do here as well. .090 to .220 gage ABS, foil decorated ABS, and some acrylics. Some flat sheet applications, but most are formed parts held using dedicated fixtures.
