Help programming thread electrode

I've placed a file called Thread Electrode in ftp://www.ppcadcam.com/Mastercam_forum/MCX2_Files/

folder. I was intending to program this with the part standing up using a harvey .376 diameter single point thread tool. The problem is when using the thread mill toolpath the tool wants to arc on and off of the part cutting where I don't want to cut.

Whats the best way to program this part.

Thanks.

Well you could draw a helix and use that as a chain to drive the toolpath. Then in the contour setting just set and perpendicular entry and exit for lead in and out. You could also use the 2D ramp contour toolpath with a circle that is the diameter. Set the ramp to depth and make the depth the pitch of the thread. Now you also have multi-pass to rough the thread. The lead in and out are usable to your liking like the perpendicular entry.
