Cutting Tantalium

Anybody cutting Tantalium fully annealed, I'am drilling .265 holes 8x thru and mill the outside part is.156 thick, Gauling ....ect. Any help would be great

1)Make sure the geometry is correct. This stuff is $$$$$$.

2)Use a vegetable oil. We used Wesson Oil for collant. Nothing else (ya, I know)Dont spray it, use a squeeze bottle. You dont need a lot.

Other collants were a no-no.

3)Speeds and feeds in the 304, 316 stainless range. This stuff is gummy. (Thus the gauling)

After reading this I envision Florence Henderson aka Mrs. Brady holding on of those blue oiler cans filled with Wessen oil. There she is in a floral top complimented nicely with a mid length grey skirt, 4” spike heels, oversize safety glasses and smiling pertly – one hand on her hip the other triggering the oil can.

Every time I need a shot she instinctively lifts one leg (sort of the way she did when she kissed Mike) the she sets back again returning the hand to her hip while smiling.

After we finish drilling the holes we break into a duet with the Wessonality song.

I've had good results "sanwiching" it with aluminum. The holes won't break out either. You don;t need much, .125 should do.
