  1. What level of g code add on do you have? For your year of machine there is 3 levels. Chip-Pan
  2. Setting 23 opens the the 8000-9000 range. Chip-Pan
  3. Stone Machinery doing the service work? Chip-Pan
  4. Looking for: Speeds , feeds and correct inserts. parts are 62RC, steel. Interrupted cut at the exit. We dont do this often, so the lathe guys are no easy to get on board. A search on hard turning helped us to get into the ball park. Chip-Pan
  5. Info, Books ? Need some help here. Hardturning first. ChipPan
  6. 1)Make sure the geometry is correct. This stuff is $$$$$$. 2)Use a vegetable oil. We used Wesson Oil for collant. Nothing else (ya, I know)Dont spray it, use a squeeze bottle. You dont need a lot. Other collants were a no-no. 3)Speeds and feeds in the 304, 316 stainless range. This stuff is gummy. (Thus the gauling) Hope this helps.
  7. Hard code a lower speed to make the machine change to low. Then let the post adjust the speed to what you want. Just stay in the low range tolerance zone Just a thought Chip Pan
  8. I would think you need to know where the machine gear speed change is at. Use that speed range to tell the post when to force a gear change. There is a point where the high and low gears overlap and the machine should change automatically. You'll need to find that overlap and set up the post to that. Chip Pan
  9. Thanks guys, The draft version (one level below the latest release) has problems with some functions. It looks like the ati card is the problem. Works ok with a NIVIDA card. Chip Pan
  10. I know this has been covered. Wasnt there a patch for the ati cards to make it work better? Chip-Pan
  11. Turn on the Task Manager and minimize it. Ckeck on the process and see what is doing the dirty work. Could be a memory leak from MC x2. Chip-Pan
  12. Thad, In that case you would call it a prop!!
  13. It cuts like titanium but a little softer. It also very expensive material ! Do what you got to do to get it right the first time. If memory serves me right, the best coolant is wesson oil. (Yea I know) Chip-Pan
  14. For all the ones using the Blaser, What about the minerial oil smell? I didnt think it was that bad, but all my co workers did. On a second note, Blaser is a lot easier on you hands. No more skin problems. Chip-pan
