CIMCO_EDIT5

When I open an NC file to edit in x2 mr2 cimco_edit5it also opens the Cimco exe file.

Anyone else seen this?

Yeah Mastercam looks to the common folder and has a fit with the Full Cimco being installed as well. I put a copy of the full exe in the common folder replacing the stripped down one and it solved my problem.

Ok misunderstood so you are using the Mastercam editor and the Cimco opens at the same time is that correct? If you do not want the cimco editor then erase the folder from your common directory and it should solve your problem or do a repair and see if that solves your problem.

I don't understand what you're getting at.

 

If you launch Cimco, the cimco.exe is going to launch.

 

Do you have the full blown version and only want to use the lite version?

When I open the nc file it also opens the Cimco exe file in the editor. It opens both files for editing at the same time!!!!!

The nc file is "opened" ready to edit but the cimco exe file is there as a tab and I can click on it to edit it or I can right click and close it leaving the nc file open.

Needless to say, I do not attempt to edit the cimco file.

go into setup >> Global Setup and uncheck reopen files.

we had a customer with the same problem. I had him download the latest version from the Cimco site and install it into his Mastercam /common/editors/ location and that solved his problem

I have seen that myself, to duplicate just rename CIMCOEdit.exe to something else .exe run the new .exe and you will see Doug's problem.

seems to be a problem with renaming the beginning of the exe name. Cimcoedit5.exe seems to work fine, V5Cimcoedit.exe doesn't work.

Reopen was already unchecked.

I renamed it to CimcoEdit.exe and renamed the old MR1 installation and now it seems to be working OK.
