Data Entry streamline.

Directly in Mastercam? No, not by default. Why don't you just use Note Pad? You could create a text file with the numbers you want, then highlight, copy, and paste.

Most data entry fields in Mastercam have a "most recently used" value list. The default list is only 4 entries long, but you can change this value:

Settings - congfiguration - Screen - MRU Options - "Number of items in MRU data fields".

Try setting this to "10" or "20". Now Mastercam will remember the last 20 numbers you typed in and make them available to you. Just press the drop down arrow next to the data entry field.

Actually, I did set up note pad and made its window tall and narrow to the right of screen and had to shrink MC to fit on left. Then I could copy and paste, but my tool bars would mess up on the shrink. I usually use MC in max window.

Great idea on the MRU I didn't know that.

It turns out the MRU can only be set to 10 max entries however.

Maybe they will make something inside MC someday to do this sort of thing.

You are quite welcome. I think this could be done with Chook quite easily. You would have to create a "modeless" dialog box that would remain on the screen... Let me do some checking and see what I can come up with.

The other option might be adding a property page to the operations manager. This would give you a "notepad" like window that would remain open as you go about your business in Mastercam.

Thanks,

Hey Andy,

For your enjoyment

Link to thread to download Verisurf...

Ernie at Verisurf whipped up a "Notes" utility. It will do exactly what you want. Just enter the numbers and/or strings of text. Then highlight a value, Ctrl + C, click in a data entry field, Ctrl + V, and you are set. It even rememebers your last entries when you re-open Mastercam.

Cheers,

Thanks again Ernie!
