Hello,

I'm a student trying to learn Master Cam x2. I was able to obtain a demo copy to play around with from work but can not get the dimensions to list correctly. What should I do?

Example:

I have a file with a steel plate that is 9.875 x 11.875 x 1.375 but the program show its as 9.980 x 11.870 x 1.380 thick?

Help please.

Thanks,

Dan

It is the DEMO software. It is not meant to work exactly like a real seat of Mastercam. You can practice any toolpath you want. You just can't post out real NC code, save the Mastercam file, or create drawings with real dimensions on them. If you want to be able to work and learn Mastercam from home, take the HASP home (with permission), or just realize that you can get a lot of good practice with the demo software, but it isn't exactly the same as a real seat of Mastercam.

Something you CAN do though is take a real Mastercam MCX file and open it in a seat of the demo version. So if you've got a part that you want to practice on, you can just open it up and the model and all the toolpaths will be there. Then you can make edits, try new toolpaths, verify, ect.
