2D Picture Has anybody done this?

Is there any way to take a simple picture Bring it into mastercam and convert it into a wire frame then machine it, without having mastercam art? or any other expensive software.

Do a search there were some freeware stuff to covert simple drawings to dxf. Other that not really.

Another way is to contact your local Mastercam salesman. And ask them to give you an evaluation copy of a raster to vector converter for MCX. I have done this in the past. I was able to use it for about a month. Then I purchased it about a year later.

Its Made by Mastercam and it works great.

Like all new software it has a learning curve.

Plus if you something that most people are used to in this forum you will be able to get your answers to most of your questions.

are you sure Protofred? Just last month we tried to get an evaluation of lathe with no succes. They told us to buy it and we had 30 days to return it.
