CNC Checklist

Does anybody have or use a checklist of all the operations performed on a job, be it a mold, die, detail, whatever, and physically go thrtu the checklist ensuring that all operations have been completed?

Our company uses a computer generated router

that details every step in a product's trip

from stock coming in the door at Recieving to

a finished part loaded on a truck at shipping.

The system works pretty well if everyone follows the proceedure.

As do we. We use MAS500 (sage software) for this. Quite expensive from what i understand.

We had used Jobboss which was great but the wonderboy using it couldn't figure it all out, lol

So we ended up with crappy Macola which doesn't do much but routing.

We use a router system for each part they call a "Bluebook" it tracks the maunfacturing process from beginning to end. Each operation must be stamped off by inspection before you are allowed to proceed. So for instance if you get material and a Bluebook and the prevoius operation has not been stamped you have to raise the red flag before you are allowed to proceed. This system works pretty good. We have engineers that plan out the process but as programmers we have the flexibility to override the process if we think we have a better method. Then the Bluebook gets updated for the next time we make the parts. There is a lot of documentation but thats what our customers require.
