WHAT SETTING FOR ROLL CUTTER AROUND CORNERS WILL GIVE ME THE SMOOTHEST TOOL MOVEMENT AND FINISH FOR CONTOURS? ALL-SHARP-OR NONE?

I set mine to sharp. None will result in a linear to linear movement. All will sometimes round what it supposed to be a sharp edge.

MLS, is there a way to set the radius size that gets rolled on the corners?

When rolling around a corner, it is attempting to keep the tool Tangent (touching) the part at all times. We cut punches with sharp corners all the time (where I used to work) and it kept them sharp without leaving a burr to get rid of after the fact.

Even with ALL on, it will not actually generate a radius on the corners of the part all the time. Only on corners greater than 135 degrees or something.

 

SHARP will never generate a radius on any sharp edge regardless of the angle. It will however, output a circle statement to stay tangent to the part as Mr. Tracey said.

 

The circle statement that is output is relative to the diameter cutter you are using.

 

The only way that I know of to control a radius you want on the part is to modify your geometry to put a radius there.
