X3 crash Solidworks slddrw file

My X3 will crash when I open a solidworks .slddrw

 

I was really looking foward to using some of these 2D .slddrw files for my EDM work but X3 will crash everytime.

slddrw are drawing files..sldprt are part models

I'm not sure that X3 can open drawing files..??

Are they Sw2009 slddrw files?

They are SW2006. I did try to open some random files and they are working now?

 

I also installed the Direct Conv. - Mastercam X3 Direct for Solidworks Maybe that fixed it?

 

I have another pc I have not installed the Direct Conv. on yet. I will try a file that crashes on there then install the Direct Conv. and see if it fixes it...

I didn't know you could open a slddrw file

slddrw files are dependent on the part model

to open properly.. are the parent sldprt files

inthe same folder as the slddrw..

Mastercam just added the slddrw to the list of files it can open. Makes it nice for my edm area to use the 2D slddrw files.

I am opening SW2009 slddrw files fine, seems like some of the text is a little off, but no crash.
