ca i do this in mc 9?when i ran esprit i could do this.i have a very detailed dxf of a tire and i want to bring it into another file i have of a vehicle.the prob is that the vehicle id turned so i also have to turn the tire.can i rotate it and then project this view normal?sorry if this sounds confusing.

It's been a long time since MC 9, but in ~Create ~curve ~project you should be able to toggle between normal to a surface or a view. View projects normal to whatever your c-plane is set to and surface projects normal to the surface you select.

Yes, you can project entities normal in V9. I just don't remember how to do it. Perhaps on the left side menu options where you toggle the letter (P to N?). Sorry, but it's been too long since using V9.

No, please don't confuse this with Squash, which was V9's way of projecting everything ont the CPlane.

If you're in V9's Create/Curve/Project, toggle the "View/Norm" from V --> N. This will cause the result to be projected perpedicularly along the surface normals.

Note that this really only works as you would expect when the curve(s) is/are quite close to the surface(s).
