X Style Coolant

hello all

did a search and cant find the answer im looking for

when i import ops my coolant settings dont stick i have to click on the tool to get the coolant on

is this right or am i missing something here?

was using v9 style but now i need more options so X style works better.

 

any ideas

In the machine group properties, under the "tool settings" tab, is your box checked to "use tools step,peck,coolant?

yes it is

that trumps the op defaults, so if the tool is saved with coolant off it shuts off the coolant in the op params

I have had problems importing operations in X2, so bad in a couple situations that I completely stopped doing it.(thats the only solution I have found) I have had my coolant settings change, tool numbers change and even just the tool height offset number change (that one ALMOST burned me, luckily I'm fast with the stop button. ) I can never get it to reproduce exactly the same thing everytime so I have no clue what the deal is, its very random. Have not tried it in X3 yet so I don't know if they fixed the problem or not, it doesn't sound like it though .

 

And yes, ALL of these tools that changed were saved in my tool library with ALL of the correct settings.

its hit or miss, some tools are fine others are not im going to look at the tools coolant settings the next time i import ops to see what the default is i set it to. not that it did not save it or something

the other possibility I'm thinking now might be related to X versus legacy coolant...if your ops were exported from a file with a legacy style(V9) machine then the ops & the reference tools in them are V9 style....import to a new mcx file that has an X style coolant machine def and you've got conflict....follow ?

no the ops were created in X3 using X style coolant i was looking at some of my tools and some of the coolant options did not save so that might be the issue have to wait till i import ops again and see if that fixed it
