Mazatrol tool data

The company that I work for purchased some new Mazaks including an E420hs integrex (the one more like a mill) we are trying to learn the function of the machine. We are struggling with the tool data among other things. Can someone give some pointers for defining turning tools for EIA programming? I am having trouble understanding how the control looks at tool nose radius.

Another prob is when boring on the sub spindle the bore will be twice the radius of the tool nose undersized. Even when the tool is probed in the correct orientation and then the head rotated to B80.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Kyle

FYI

web page

I define tools in the Upper turret like this.

Tool 1 = 80A; CNMG

Tool 1 = 80B; same CNMG but for spindle 2

Call in Iso as T1 = 80A

Call as T1.2 = 80B

The mazak letter prefix is called by numbers in ISO.

A=1 or Just the tool number

B=2

C=3 and so on.

Do a search I have done some past topics about this. Are you using the In-House post? If so ask them to update the tool description to give you Mazatrol suffix for each tool when using the mr #2 value. Works like so .01 is A for Mazatrol. .02 is B then .61 is Heavy A for Mazatrol. Send me an email and tomorrow when I am back at my other job I will send you sample code and other things. If you are not using the In-House post I highly recommend you get it!!!

Also check out www.integrexmachinist.com very smart Integrex guys on there a few belong to this forum as well.
