C-Axis Face Contour

Hello all,

I am programming a part for a lathe with live tooling. The part has a profile on the face, and then a 45 degree chamfer on the bottom of the profile.

I'm using the C-axis face contour to do the profile. I then was attempting to copy that toolpath, and use the depth cut with tapered walls option to mill the 45 degree chamfer on the bottom of the profile. However it doesn't appear to be working. It just ignores the parameters, and back plots as if it were cutting straight.

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem with this function. confused.gif

Thanks much

Hotchip to put files on any FTP you need an FTP client program. I use filezilla and so does many others here it is free. Do a Google search and you will find a down load for it.

Have you tried the C axis cross contour toolpath. Make sure your chain is draw in the right view this is important with C axis toolpaths. With Mill toolpaths on lathe all you need is the right C-plane with C axis toolpaths more care needs to be taken with the View the chains are placed on.
