Can't pick solid edges or corners

I normally run with my autocursor with

Circle Center , Endpoint and Point enabled

 

I have always been able to select the corner of a solid, even if I have not created edge curves..

 

for example.. Analyze Position.. select the corner of a solid and get its position..

 

today that has quit working and I have no clue why..

 

anyone have any ideas.. Auto cursor is turned on...

Did you try closing and re-opening Mcam?

I have had messy models where you couln't pick much.

 

got another on you can try?

I was working on my laptop (vista x64) and lost

the abilty to pick edges.. this problems remained when I moved the file back to my work station.. Its very annoying, but seems to be isolated to this one file.

Have you tried ... Analyze--> Test Surfaces and Solids--> Analyze Check Solid

 

No red X in solids tree?

 

Are you sure your base geometry doesn't have untrimmed entities or gaps present?

This file has about 30 solids ... all dumb solids imported from SolidWorks.. the part.. stock..fixture..clamps..etc etc..

I rebooted my computer and all is well..

The only thing I can think of is how I opened it.. from Explorer, Right click, Open with..

I never do that.. except today.. I'll have to see if I can repeat the problem and send it in..
