merge files - X4 problem??

Hello Guys

We run into the problem when we try to merge/pattern 2 mastecam files together.

X3, is still OK but we can not merge 2 X4 files ( it asks for password to change the MD). We all share files over the network, so all the MD and CD are password protected and only my Sup. has it.

Any one run into this problem??? Please help.

File merge in X4 works fine here.

File merge brings in only geometry. Even when I merge in a file with a different MD that has toolpath, only geometry will come in. So it shouldn't matter if they have different machine defs. Why would it need a password? (Just thinking out loud here).

This is a problem that has recently come to our attention is being addressed. To work around it, Do a 'File -> Save some' and save the geometry to be merged into the other file.

It is a bug. It will only show up if the MD in your file is password protected. We see it all the time here.

 

Contact your reseller and [email protected]. Please complain and ask them to fix it. That is the only way these things get addressed.

The bug has been logged. Software development has found the problem and is currently working on a solution.
